Meet Henri Ghijben

Hi, I’m Henri — a tree surgeon turned business mentor on a mission to help others avoid the same painful mistakes I made.

I started my first tree surgery business with a pair of climbing boots, a chainsaw, and a whole lot of determination. I was great with trees, good with people, and soon enough… the phone was ringing, the crew was growing, and the business was booming.

But here’s what I didn’t realise:

👉 Being a good tree surgeon doesn’t mean you know how to run a business.
👉 Without the right systems, team, and financial foundations, everything is built on sand.

A single lost contract sent everything spiralling. The business collapsed. I lost our family home. It was devastating.

I had built something great — but I’d built it without the business skills to protect it.

That painful lesson became my turning point.

From there, I rebuilt.

Today, I run HRG Tree Surgeons with multiple crews, a strong management team, and more importantly — a business that works for me, not the other way around.

But I didn’t stop there.

In 2022, I launched the Tree Surgeons Business Academy to help other tree surgery business owners learn the lessons I wish I’d known from the start. Since then, we’ve helped over 100+ tree surgeons grow stronger, more profitable, and more sustainable businesses — all through our 1-Day Mastermind, 3-Day Courses, and 12-Month Mentoring Programme.
